If you have not filled out your child’s after school plan, please do so as soon as you can.

Please see the information below or watch the video for important information regarding arrival and dismissal procedures.

Before School/Arrival:

Students eating breakfast should arrive at 8:35 a.m.. Students eating breakfast will walk on the yellow line and enter through Door #1 (main entrance).

Students should NOT arrive at school any earlier than 8:35 a.m. for breakfast to ensure proper supervision.

Students who are NOT eating breakfast should arrive at 8:45 a.m. and not before. Supervision for students not eating breakfast begins at 8:45 a.m.

If your child(ren) is participating in Family Services before/after school program, the Family Service entrance is Door #2.

Our arrival locations will remain the same, utilizing the front of the building for all scholars. This aligns with a district priority: limiting the number of entrances during arrival. All K-5 scholars will enter the building through the main doors. Each grade level will have a designated line on the walkway leading to Door #1, marked by cones with grade level signs. Students will stand and wait in their grade-level lines until 8:53 a.m.

Kindergarten: Dots under the porch (same as in the past)
1st Grade: Green line
2nd Grade: Blue line
3rd Grade: Pink line
4th Grade: Red line
5th Grade: Orange line under the porch by Kindergarten

Please help us teach our scholars to use caution even when crossing streets where signs are posted and/or crosswalks are clearly marked. Please stop for all pedestrians in crosswalks while driving.

After School/Dismissal:

Grade levels will dismiss and walk to the following locations:

Kindergarten students will dismiss out Door 1 and meet families on colored dots
1st Grade students will dismiss out Door 17 and meet families along that sidewalk
2nd Grade students will meet families on their lines on the basketball court
3rd-Grade students will dismiss out Doors 14 & 15
4th-grade students will dismiss out Doors 12 & 13
5th-grade students will dismiss out Door 11

Students participating in Family Service after school will do the following:

3rd - 5th grade students - meet a Family Service Supervisor in the building. The Family Service supervisor will walk them to the MPR

1st and 2nd grade students - a teacher will walk students to the MPR to Family Service.

Kindergarten - teachers will drop off students in the MPR on their way outside at dismissal

If you plan to walk up to the building/sidewalk to meet your child(ren), you must park in an appropriate neighborhood street spot.

Teachers typically make eye contact with students’ pick-up person and will dismiss students one at a time. The first few days can take some time, so please be patient.

Students whose families will be in the carline will line up by grade level at the end of the walkway at the front of the building. Humann staff will be present to help get students in cars. Our staff is happy to help load students, but staff cannot buckle students in. Please help your child learn to buckle themselves or have a plan to do that quickly and safely.

Kindergarten Parents- Please remember to have your student wear their name tag the first 3 days of school. Please write your child’s after school plan on the bottom of the label.

Students should be picked up by 3:45 p.m.

Don’t miss out on important back-to-school information! Please take the important steps below to ensure your family’s information is up-to-date.

Every year families are required to complete the enrollment verification process. This includes updating contact information and signing consent and release forms. Please do this as soon as possible so you don’t miss out on important information. The deadline is before the first day of school.

Verify your child’s records:

  1. Starting today, families can log on to ParentVUE, and click on the Online Registration button in the top right corner.

  2. Verify the current address, phone number and email information provided. (This is how your school will contact you about emergencies and send important updates.)

  3. Follow the prompts on the screen and answer each question or verify information already provided as thoroughly as possible.

If you have questions or need help with completing these steps, please contact your child’s school.

If you have previously used your ParentVUE account, but can’t remember your password, you can reset it online at https://synergyvue.lps.org/. If you have not yet activated your LPS ParentVUE account, please contact the main office of your child’s school for instructions and an activation key.

Thank you for your help!

Voluntary Supplies

Parents often ask if there are supplies they need to purchase for their child. Nebraska Statutes guarantee that all schools provide a free, appropriate public education. Lincoln Public Schools provides all necessary basic supplies and equipment for students to use in their classroom. Humann teachers often purchase extra supplies and materials for special projects. Extra supplies that teachers find helpful are listed by grade levels. This is a voluntary donation, not a request or requirement for any child. If you would like to purchase any items, they can be dropped off at school or sent with your child.

REMINDER: School physicals

It is time to schedule your students’ school physical for next school year! All students benefit from an annual wellness exam.

Families of kindergarten and seventh grade students for the 2026-2027 school year need to provide evidence of a physical examination completed by a physician, physician assistant, or an advanced practice registered nurse to the school your child attends – or will attend. There are required immunizations needed for school that are given to kindergarteners and seventh grade students during their school physical.

All students must be current with all school required immunizations and provide proof to the school. There are many resources available and the school nurse can assist you if you have questions.
