Welcome to Humann Elementary School, home of the Humann Huskies! Humann opened its doors in the Fall of 1990 and is named in honor of longtime Lincoln educator, Julius Humann. Our students, staff, and families were excited to return to our newly renovated building for the 2017-2018 school year.

Humann Elementary serves approximately 500 students in our preschool through fifth grade program. Specialists teachers in art, music, physical education, computer science, and library media use their expertise and talents to provide a well rounded program for our students.

Humann Elementary School’s talented staff is committed to making school a great experience for our students.  Humann staff work diligently to provide instruction for students at their success level, differentiating instruction so all students are challenged and feel success.  We honor the unique strengths, talents, and diversity of each of our students and dedicate our efforts to help each of them experience individual success.

At Humann Elementary School, we provide a caring, safe, and productive environment that promotes high levels of student engagement and effort. There are three school-wide expectations for behavior at Humann Elementary School: Be safe, be respectful, be responsible.

We value the partnership between families, community, and our school.  Families know their children best and our partnership is valuable in helping us to support the unique needs of students.  We are fortunate to have an active and supportive PTO.  Our PTO works in collaboration with students, families, staff, and the Lincoln community to enrich curricular and extracurricular experiences for all Humann students that otherwise would not exist. The PTO allows parents multiple opportunities to become involved in different activities that support our students and school.

We hope you will take some time to explore our website to learn more about the opportunities that exist at Humann.

Online Registration Verification Opens

Starting July 15th, parents and guardians will verify their child(ren)’s enrollment information through the online parent portal, ParentVUE. The Health History Form and the request to provide medication (Tylenol/Ibuprofen) permission form are now part of the Annual Online Registration Verification.

You must have an LPS ParentVue account to complete this process.  (Activation is a one-time setup).  To create your ParentVue account, please contact the Humann school office for an activation key.  Your ParentVue account will be used for the duration you have a student in LPS.  You will need a valid email address to create your ParentVue account.  You may obtain a free email account through services such as Google if you do not have one.

If you already use ParentVue, there is nothing more you need to do to prepare.  You will be ready to complete the annual Online Registration Verification process when it opens on July 15th.  If you have previously activated your ParentVue account but can’t remember your password, you can reset it online at synergyvue.lps.org/.

2024-2025 Kindergarten Jumpstart

On Tuesday, July 16th from 9:00-11:00am, we will be hosting a Kindergarten Jumpstart! This is a great opportunity for students to begin meeting other kindergartners and getting a feel for the classrooms. Students will get the opportunity to meet multiple teachers and participate in mixed groups during this time. The short amount of time allows for students to adjust to the school climate and structure before the first day. Please fill out this form to let us know whether your child will or will not be attending. Parents and guardians are welcome to attend a parent/guardian orientation on Tuesday, July 16th. We will start shortly after 9:15am in our multi-purpose room.

As a reminder, you are welcome to turn in any paperwork in the meantime by emailing them, faxing them to Humann (402-458-3245), or dropping them off. You are also welcome to bring in paperwork the day of Kindergarten Jumpstart. (Birth Certificate, Immunizations, Physical Form, Vision Exam, Dental Exam, any Custody or Legal Documentation)

We look forward to meeting your child at Kindergarten Jumpstart!
