Philosophy Statement
I believe every child can be successful at physical activities. I will strive for the development of the total child. The child is not in physical education to learn a sport, but rather to learn the skills necessary to play any sport or activity they enjoy. It is my goal to teach each child developmentally appropriate physical education activities so that he/she can achieve personal success at all levels of learning; physical, cognitive, social and emotional.
I also want them to learn the basic concepts of physical fitness and be able to assess their own fitness levels. To support these beliefs I will strive to include in the lessons the three main components of fitness which are; strength, flexibility and cardiovascular endurance. I will also provide a safe, age appropriate activity for all to work on their own skill level.
